The adventures of a pilgrim
This book, whose author is unknown, was originally written in Russian in 1853. The original was found on Mount Athos in 1884 and printed. This masterpiece, as it was described in Europe by theologians who were spiritually immersed in it, tells the story of an Orthodox Christian pilgrim who travels with a thirst to deepen his knowledge and application of the Apostle Paul's saying: "pray without ceasing". Finally, with the help of a monk and the book "Philokalia of the Neptic Fathers", he manages to learn to deepen and apply unceasing prayer, also called mental prayer or prayer of the heart, which is summed up in the phrase, "Lord Jesus Christ have mercy on me".
