The ecclesiastical censer is the liturgical vessel used by the priests in the Churches which has lit charcoals on the bottom. It consists of four chains representing the four Evangelists and twelve bells representing the Apostles. The priestly censer symbolizes the human nature of our Lord Jesus Christ and with it the priest incenses the Offertory, the Holy Icons and the Orthodox Christians.
