The Cross of Christ is a symbol of love and sacrifice, a trophy of victory over the devil and a symbol of life and peace. The Cross of the Lord is the healer of passions, the destroyer of demons and the strength of the saints of the Church. Each person has his own personal cross to bear, which is the afflictions, sufferings and sins of earthly life. Jesus Christ said to his disciples: "If anyone wants to come after Me, he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow Me" (Matthew 16:24-26).
