Saint Klimis came from Athens and his parents were devout Christians. He was brought up according to the requirements of Christianity and at the age of 30 he decided to give up worldly things. He practiced asceticism in the monastery of Saint Meletius in Kithairon, where he devoted himself entirely to praying to God.

Saint Klimis later went to Mount Sagmatas and continued his practice in a cave. There, he remained for many years and became the instructor of many monks. He slept in peace in the year 1111 AD. The Holy Skull of the Saint is located in the homonymous Monastery of Thebes. The Orthodox Christian Church celebrates his memory on January 26 of each year.
