Hieromartyr of the Christian Church, whose memory is commemorated on April 11. This day is celebrated by those who bear the name Antipas. Saint Antipas, since 1967, is the patron saint of Greek dentists, in the place of Saint Apollonia (October 30), who remains the patron saint of the dentists of Western Christianity. In the courtyard of the School of Dentistry of the University of Athens in Goudi, there is a church dedicated to Agios Antipas.

Antipas lived the years of the emperor Domitian (81-96) and studied medicine at the famous school of Pergamon. It is not known when he became a Christian. He was, however, ordained bishop of Pergamon, probably by the evangelist John, when he was in exile on Patmos. Antipas had a difficult task, as in Pergamum "where Satan dwells" (Revelation, b '13) the pagan element was strong. It was only a matter of time before he was arrested for his actions. During the persecution of Domitian, he was arrested by the local ruler and after refusing to renounce his faith, he was thrown into a burning bronze model of an ox, where his life ended in 92.

Antipas is the only saint mentioned in the "Apocalypse" and is called by John the Theologian and Evangelist "my faithful witness" (b '13).
