Mount Athos weathered lithography (icon) of Saint Olympia the Martyr in pine wood with carved decoration.

Saint Olympia came from Constantinople and later lived in the Peloponnese with her pious parents. When she was orphaned at the age of 10, she settled in the Monastery of Saint Raphael in Thermi, Lesvos, where the abbess was her aunt Dorothea. She became a nun and later an abbess when Dorothea passed away.

On May 11, 1235 AD. pirates entered the monastery of Saint Raphael and brutally tortured the thirty nuns. They burned Olympia all over her body and nailed her with twenty nails on a board. The Saint suffered a martyr's death and surrendered her soul to God. In 1959 AD the relics and the tomb of Saint Olympia were found. The Orthodox Christian Church celebrates her memory on May 11 of each year.
