Saint Eumenius was the son of a large and poor family. He was born on January 1, 1931 AD. At the age of seventeen Constantine left the worldly world and went to the Holy Monastery of Saint Nikitas, in the south of Crete. After his three-year ordeal, in 1951 AD, he became a monk, renamed Sophronios. As a monk, Sophronios laid the foundation of his monastic life on humility, obedience and diligence.
Saint Evmenios Saridakis is celebrated on 23 May each year.
