Mount Athos weathered lithography (icon) of Saint Kallinikos the Martyr in pine wood with carved decoration.
Saint Kallinikos was a martyr of the Orthodox Christian Church originating from Cilicia of Asia Minor. When he was in Ankara of Turkey, he was arrested by the local ruler Sacerdon. The saint was horribly tortured and thrown alive into a furnace in the Gangra of Paphlagonia. The memory of Saint Kallinikos is honored by the Orthodox Christian Church on July 29 of each year.
Apolytikion of Saint Callinicus the Martyr
Fourth Tone
Thy Martyr, O Lord, in his courageous contest for Thee received the prize of the crowns of incorruption and life from Thee, our immortal God. For since he possessed Thy strength, he cast down the tyrants and wholly destroyed the demons' strengthless presumption. O Christ God, by his prayers, save our souls, since Thou art merciful.
