Mount Athos weathered lithography (icon) of Saint Triantaphillus Zagoras in pine wood with carved decoration.
Saint Triantaphyllos was born in Zagora of Magnesia in the year 1663 AD. and was a sailor by profession. At one point he found himself with his boat in Constantinople and visited the churches. For some unknown reason he came into conflict with some Turks and was accused of wanting to embrace the Muslim faith.
Saint Triantaphillus remained steadfast in his faith in Christ and was martyred in 1680 AD. at the age of just 18 years. The Orthodox Christian Church celebrates his memory on August 8 of each year.
