Mount Athos weathered lithography (icon) of the Theophany (Baptism) of Jesus Christ in pine wood with carved decoration.
The Holy Epiphany is the great Christian celebration of the remembrance of the Baptism of Jesus Christ and the revelation of the Holy Trinity. At the age of 30, Christ was baptized in Jordan by John the Baptist who practiced in the wilderness and preached the Word of God. Then, in the form of a dove, the Holy Spirit descended and sat on the Lord and from heaven the voice of God was heard saying: "This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased."
The Holy Epiphany is celebrated on January 6 of each year.
Apolytikion of the Holy Epiphany
First Tone
Lord, when You were baptized in the Jordan, the veneration of the Trinity was revealed. For the voice of the Father gave witness to You, calling You Beloved, and the Spirit, in the guise of a dove, confirmed the certainty of His words. Glory to You, Christ our God, who appeared and enlightened the world.
