Red dry wine Epifanis of Limnio - Merlot variety from the Holy Cell of Saint Efstathios (Mylopotamos) at Mount Athos.
Epifanis athonite red dry wine is produced from the fifteen-year-old vines of Mylopotamos and specifically from the Limnio and Merlot varieties. It has a deep red colour. On the nose (bouquet) we detect dried plums, red fruits and spices. On the palate it has a robust body, generous structure with rich tannins, harmoniously polymerized, balanced acidity and a lingering sweet aftertaste.
A wine with great surface area and with a lot of promise for lovers of the genre who want wines older than ten years in their cellar. If you decant it in a carafe before drinking it, it will "open up" and give you all its aromas. Enjoy it at 16 - 18 degrees. Vinified in temperature-controlled winemakers for three weeks. After malolactic fermentation, it was transferred to new French oak barrels for 24 months.
The consumption of red wine in moderation is a healthy dietary choice for the human body. Red wine contains polyphenols that contribute to gut health and reduce the risk of heart disease. The resveratrol in wine reduces the risk of cancer and dementia, lowers blood pressure and increases good cholesterol in the blood.
