Mount Athos lithography (icon) of Saint Jacob (Iakovos) Tsalikis on natural wood carved by hand.

Saint Jacob Tsalikis was born in Livisi of Asia Minor on November 5, 1920 AD. After the exchange of populations between Greece and Turkey in 1924 AD. he settled with his family in the village of Farakla in Evia. The Saint was distinguished for his hard work and for his ascetic and Christian life. After the death of his parents, he decided to become a monk and went to the Monastery of Saint David the Elder in Northern Evia. He was later ordained a deacon and an elder by the Metropolitan of Chalkida, Gregory.

Saint Iakovos Tsalikis, on June 25, 1975 AD, became abbot of the Monastery of Saint David and worked hard for the reorganization of the monastery. During his diocese, the Monastery attracted thousands of believers who sought his spiritual word and his insightful gift. Elder Jacob surrendered his soul to God on November 21, 1991 AD. The Holy Synod of the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople classified him among the Saints on November 27, 2017 AD.

The memory of Saint Jacob of Evia is honored by the Orthodox Christian Church on November 22 of each year.
