Mount Athos weathered lithography (icon) of Saint Sophia of Kleisoura in pine wood with carved decoration.

Saint Sophia of Kleisoura was born in 1883 AD. in the village of Sari-popa of Trabzon of Pontus. She was married to Iordanis Hotokouridis with whom she had a child in the year 1910 AD. After losing her child and her husband, she took refuge in the mountains to live an ascetic life. After the exchange of the populations between Greece and Turkey, she went to the monastery of Kleisoura in Kastoria where she lived ascetically for fifty years. The Saint was walking barefoot, she was not bathing and her food was meager. She helped her fellow human beings, loved animals and was an "ascetic of the Virgin Mary".

Saint Sophia of Kleisoura passed away on May 6, 1974 AD. The Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople classified her among the Saints on July 1, 2012 AD. The Orthodox Christian Church commemorates her on May 6 of each year.
